Motorola has announced the UAE launch of Motorola Flipout, a stylishly square and compact smartphone, and Motorola Defy, a slim, pocket-able and 'life proof' model.
Motorola Mobility, a subsidiary of the telecom leader, said the two models will be launched during the festive season. Flipout runs on Android 2.1 and features an innovative square pivot design that opens to reveal a five-row Qwerty keypad with a separate row for numeric keys.
Flipout features up to seven customizable home screens, live wallpapers, and added security for exchange server users.
"Flipout merges Motorola's design heritage with Android to deliver a new take on the typical smartphone form. In an incredibly compact square, the model fits neatly in your palm, purse or small pocket, making it fun and easy to stay connected while on the go – ideal for the busy lives of those in the UAE," said Mahmoud Sayed Ahmed, marketing director, Middle East, Motorola Mobility.
Flipout will be introduced in an array of colors including Fairway Green, Raspberry Crush, Saffron and White. It will retail for Dh1,399 ($ ) starting from December 1.
The android smartphone includes CrystalTalk Plus which improves a caller's voice quality while filtering out background noise for better conversations, explained Ahmed.
Building on Motorola's proprietary microphone and speaker configuration, CrystalTalk Plus adds a second microphone to provide even clearer voice quality, while cutting down background noise. Additional multimedia features include a 3MP camera with digital zoom besides video capture, playback and streaming options along with Bluetooth capabilities for wireless calls and music.
On the launch of Defy, Ahmed said the model will hit the market in early 2011.
The slim and pocket-able Android smartphone comes equipped with a 3.7" high-resolution, scratch-resistant touch screen display that provides edge-to-edge views of your favorite websites, photos and videos. "Defy is designed to handle everything that life throws your way. With all the features consumers expect in a smartphone, it packs Web browsing, entertainment and messaging capabilities as well as an exterior design that can withstand the stresses of everyday life." "Defy is essentially a connection hub wrapped in a layer of protection," Ahmed noted.
"This model is scratch and water resistant as well as dust proof, thus protecting you from life's little challenges such as spilling liquids, a sudden rain shower or a drop in the sand," he added.-TradeArabia News Service (c) 2009 Al Hilal Publishing & Marketing Group Provided by Syndigate.info an Albawaba.com company
